I've been thinking a lot about changes lately, specifically habits, breaking and making new ones. There's so much that I want to do and be that I have not yet done or worked toward, and most of what's holding me back are lazy tendancies. I don't want to be a lazy person. I desire a rich life that I can tell my children about one day, to brag on my many adventures in life 'before they were born' For instance, I not only want to, but I really need to be way more active than I am and lose weight. I am really scared that I will develop diabetes and/or other weight-realted diseases if I do not. I don't really have a family history of them, but who's to say that I wouldn't start the family history? I know that I need to eat better, get off of that darn sofa, and move, but I tell myself (and then give into myself, as well) that I am too tired from being at work all day. I sit in a chair and look at a screen. ALL DAY. It's called (sorry, no offense)B.S.! :)
Another example of a bad habit is my housekeeping. Fortunately for me, Gabe is a very forgiving person, and does not (usually) complain. Unfortunately for me, Gabe is a very forgiving person, and does not usually complain. :) I know. I really am SO lucky to have a great husband, but I feel like I'm already too easy on myself and wish that he'd be 'meaner' to me. :) Not really. I just need to buck up and do it!
I guess that I've said all of this to not only make myself accountable, but to ask your opinion: Do you think it's easier and better to 'quit' habits cold turkey, or to do it gradually and give myself a timeline? I really want to make these(and other) changes, and I want them to stick. Any advice? Tips? Anything?
*As I was writing this, all I could hear was the song "Goodbye To You" covered by The Veronicas.

I wish I had the answer for you!!! I have recently become a lazy person, and I was never like that before, but I can't seem to snap out of it!!!! Lots of excuses on my end too, so I'll be watching for some advice too!!!
I'm not exactly the domestic type either. My poor husband. I'd say getting into a healthier lifestyle is more important! I can't say enough about 30 day Shred! It's less than 30 minutes and gets you in shape fast!! Thank you so much for following us!
I have to agree with your friend Kristin. I love 30 Day Shred!! It really gives you no excuse for laziness becuase it is only 20 minutes. I would say in terms of exercise, set a goal a day. That way you're not setting yourself up for failure in the long run with a long-term goal.
I think that you need to look at things in your past that you have been successful at. Then figure out WHY you were successful at those thing. Each person has a path that works for them. You just need to figure out what yours is.
For me, I have to decide what my goal is and then make a serious plan. It's easy for me to say what I want, but I am not always good at planning how to get what I want.
I am totally with you on the weight loss too. Although I have lost weight since the beginning of the year! YEAH! I have a lot more to go.
I think you can do anything you set your mind too!
I think it's mind over matter.....
No matter how tired, sick, bored, hungry, lazy, sad, happy, preoccupied, whatever it is you are....you have to make time for yourself and your home.
I am working on this myself and it is a process. It's very easy to slip back into the same old habits and it takes a while to start new ones. Be patient with yourself and it will happen.
Good luck to you! My biggest thing that I quit was when I quit smoking it was cold turkey. But with anything, I think that is really up to the person who is quitting something! did that make sense?
Unfortunately I cannot give advice on housework...I totally suck at it!!!
Wishing you the best of luck!!
Not an easy journey for sure.....I will be there to support U! :):):):):):):):):):)
I have created a schedule for myself... a little bit of cleaning each day = a lot done by the end of the week, that means I actually schedule "creative time" this seems to work for me. But this is also i struggle with to.. Maybe you should take a break and re-evaluate your priorities.... thats what I did this month. ANd I took a 30 day break from scrapbooking, and it was actually refreshing,,,,
Hope you get over this little slump.
Big hugs!
Bree
